Do you need a Fire Risk Assessment?

Under current fire safety laws, Fire Risk Assessments are required for all business premises and communal areas of residential flats. If your business has five or more employees, a written fire risk assessment is legally required.

This obligation applies to all non-domestic properties, including public and commercial buildings like schools, warehouses, factories, offices, care homes, nursing homes, retail shops, licensed premises, and businesses that provide overnight accommodation. It also covers sheltered housing and communal areas in blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).
