Replacing single-glazed windows with double-glazed units can greatly enhance your EPC score. Who is responsible for obtaining an EPC?
If you’re selling or renting out a property, it’s your responsibility as the seller or landlord to obtain an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). This certificate must be provided to potential buyers or tenants before any sale or lease agreement is finalized.
For new builds, the responsibility falls to the person overseeing the construction work. They must supply the EPC to the property owner and notify the Building Control Officer or Approved Inspector that the certificate has been issued within the required timeframe.
